On his recent album, Captain Planet teamed up once again with his good friend, the Grammy nominated Zimbabwean-American singer/songwriter Shungudzo. Together they penned an empowered, soulful declaration - "Music Is Medicine". The song serves as both a mission statement for their own work as musicians, as well as a personal reflection on the continued comfort and healing they both receive from this spiritual art form. Now the Captain has returned to completely re-mix his own song, giving it a more uptempo and modern bounce for the dance floor, while maintaining the soul and message of the original. The remix draws inspiration from the futuristic funk and modern club sounds of artists like Kaytranada, Disclosure & Young Franco as well as his Bastard Jazz bandmates Potatohead People, Bad Colours and B Bravo. With one foot still rooted in the organic retro vibes of "Sounds Like Home", this Stepper's remix pushes the other foot firmly onto the dance floors of today's tasteful club scene- making space for a modern boogie that is entirely unique.
